Mercedes-Benz new concept SUV — G-Code

The German automaker Mercedes-Benz recently showed its new SUV concept. It is a hydrogen-powered SUV. The hydrogen power is a effective gasoline substitutes, which can reduce the fuel consumption and increase the fuel economy. The G-code is an amazing concept not only because the space-age interior, but its paint. Very interesting things are when the G-Code is stationary, its "multi-voltaic" paint generates electricity in a number of ways. It acts like a giant solar cell, turning the sun's energy into electricity, and also charges electrostatically, harnessing the power of the wind. G-Code is also an FCV. The driver can use their smartphone to start the vehicle, then place it in the docking station to access the study’s connected-vehicle system.

Instead of simply passing the electricity generated onto an internal battery, Mercedes uses it to facilitate hydrogen synthesis, creating fuel for the car's engine. The front wheels are powered by a hydrogen engine, while an electric motor drives the rear axle. Moving both pairs of wheels, a turbocharged hydrogen mil delivers power to the front, while an electric motor selectively moves the rear wheels via a dual multi-disc clutch. Power regeneration is carried out via the aforementioned coating, plug-in technology, and a suspension system that transmits energy into a compact current generator. It also has some other tricks to aid the production of hydrogen: on the move, further power is drawn from the G-Code's suspension system. One byproduct of the synthesis is oxygen, which Mercedes says "is routed to the interior as needed," providing "a refreshing effect for the occupants."

The grill adds still more flash to the G-Code by indicating the state its HYBRID system is in, from blue light moving toward the star in eDrive, to vivid red and reverse movement in sport.

The G-Code offers a few technological wonders that someday appear in Mercedes’ portfolio of SUVs and crossovers aside from its muscular coupe profile — measuring 13 feet long and 4.9 feet tall — and 21-inch wheels riding a 6.2-foot wide track. The driver and their passengers can enjoy niceties, such as: GPS, 3D cameras, leather-upholstered seats with 3D body scanning for improved comfort, a pair of stand-up scooters in the back for additional mobility, and photosynthetic air conditioning for cleaner cabin air.

At last, we should know that it is only a concept now, though I hope its techniques can be displayed in the upcoming products.
